The Daily Sky: Venus Enters Taurus

One day the most beautiful woman any of the regulars at Sully's Bar had ever seen walked in off the street and sat down for a drink. She smiled demurely at each of them as she caught the regulars one by one, staring at her. She was radiant. The multicolored lighting from the broken jukebox lit the highlights in her hair. It was if a UFO had landed and deposited an ancient fertility Goddess at Sully's Bar for a Heineken, and to deliver the promise of Eternal Love.

The men all sat there, mesmerized. The each reveled in their own private fantasies... not merely sexual, but more. Somehow this incredible dame carried with her the promise of more. A happy life. A family. Love and acceptance and warmth and home-cooked meals and holding hands and laughing together over small things and epic bouts of love-making.

In fact, they all sat there dreaming of their new lives with their new love until May 9th, when she smiled and left. Afterwards, much sadness and regret ensued.

Astrology Dating's Weekend Romance Horoscope: July 2-4, 2010

The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction... squared by Pluto in Capricorn... is still making a lot of things exciting for a lot of people. You might find that excitement shifting towards the romantic... Venus is Leo is rolling into opposition to Neptune, and that can make for a lot of romantic feelings. Boy, it sure is a good thing no one's going to be out drinking and partying this weekend, and putting themselves in a position to make poor love life choices. Oh, wait. Happy Fourth of July!

"Oh dear. Tsk, tsk," said Mars in Virgo. "Things couldn't get much worse than this."

Venus in Leo clapped Mars on the back and laughed heartily. "Don't be a silly pessimist," Venus said, "things could always get PLENTY worse than this. Just you wait!"

As a lot of you who frequent this astrology dating site know, Venus is generally considered to be in charge of "love," and Mars gets the credit for "sex." Venus in Leo is a fun placement, and Mars in an Earth Sign certainly has its uses (ahem), but the two put together are a little like a dog chasing its tail this weekend. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, which is currently strongly placed in Gemini. The Sun... which rules Leo and is therefore Venus' supervisor this weekend... is in Gemini too. And with the Moon passing from Virgo to Libra (also Venus-ruled) this weekend, it's like Mercury is secretly running the whole emotional show. That can lead to a lot of romantic plotting and scheming (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), or just a lot of thinking and talking without any action. Weekend Romance Horoscope: May 7-9, 2010

It's made a little more powerful by the fact that it is in what astrologers call "mutual reception": in this case, it's in a sign ruled by Mercury, and Mercury is (in turn) in a sign ruled by Venus. The big news this weekend is Venus entering Gemini. If you go by the descriptions, Venus in Taurus was all sexy and sensual, whereas Venus in Gemini sounds like it's too busy organizing parties and chatting. Maybe you're just in love with the idea of love this weekend, rather than Love Itself... or with an actual person. Your emotional connections are likely to be on your mind a lot, but not with any real obvious progress.
