The Daily Sky: Lunar Eclipse In Scorpio

Lunar eclipses used to be "blood on the Moon," but hey... that's a bit too scary for us, isn't it? I mean after all... isn't the mere word "Scorpio" enough to induce chills, some days?

With Mars conjunct the Sun during this eclipse, a little blood imagery may be called for... at least in the "gets your blood pumping" sense. The Sun, Moon and Mars are aspected by Neptune for this eclipse Whatever obstacles you've faced lately, you've got an excellent chance to overcome them... and for once, faith in Your Higher Power (or however you feel about these things) can be of practical use.

If you have major placements in the first ten degrees of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), brace for impact and pray for the best, and with a little luck and skill you'll come out ahead.

The Big Changes you need in your life are at hand. Find where 5-6 degree Taurus and Scorpio are in your birth chart, and that will be your first clue as to how to proceed.  Hey... that might be the sort of thing you'd like to contact an astrologer about!

The Daily Sky: Moon Void Of Course In Virgo, All Day Long

Today might be the day you finally decide to take bold action in your life. Maybe all your work life needs is to have all your projects listed by size rather than alphabetically. Or perhaps your love life issues can be resolved successfully if you and your partner agree to discuss your issues via sock puppets and role-playing rather than by actual conversation. Or perhaps that ongoing rumble in your intestines might be cured once and for all if you just go on a Cave Protein Diet with regular kombucha enemas.

...Or maybe you should just admit that complex issues don't always have simple, neat, logical solutions. Either way, when the Moon is Void Of Course, permanent solutions aren't likely to be found. So don't sweat it: there's always tomorrow.

The Daily Sky: Mercury Square Pluto

And now, a handy English-Lithuanian Translation Guide For Native English Speakers On Vacation::

"Excuse me, but can you tell me which way to the train station?"

"Can you please direct me to an affordable restaurant?"

"Does anyone here speak English?"

"Please help me. I require assistance."

Today's lesson: if your message isn't getting through, maybe turning the volume up isn't really going to help.

The Daily Sky: Venus Enters Taurus

One day the most beautiful woman any of the regulars at Sully's Bar had ever seen walked in off the street and sat down for a drink. She smiled demurely at each of them as she caught the regulars one by one, staring at her. She was radiant. The multicolored lighting from the broken jukebox lit the highlights in her hair. It was if a UFO had landed and deposited an ancient fertility Goddess at Sully's Bar for a Heineken, and to deliver the promise of Eternal Love.

The men all sat there, mesmerized. The each reveled in their own private fantasies... not merely sexual, but more. Somehow this incredible dame carried with her the promise of more. A happy life. A family. Love and acceptance and warmth and home-cooked meals and holding hands and laughing together over small things and epic bouts of love-making.

In fact, they all sat there dreaming of their new lives with their new love until May 9th, when she smiled and left. Afterwards, much sadness and regret ensued.

Venus in Taurus is powerful... but you have to DO something with it!

Why I Am An Astrologer

I've been a professional astrologer for over twenty years, but the story really begins back when I was six years old, when I was handed a book -- "The Compleat Astrologer" -- by my mother. "There's too much math for me," she said. Besides, the book's original owner... my then-twenty-year-old half-sister... had been hauled away by the cops for what everyone assumed would be the last time.

(That's one thing I've noticed over the years: astrologers usually come from screwy family backgrounds somehow.)

Fast forward a couple of decades, and I had gone through college to learn psychology and counseling. I was dissatisfied with it. Helping people is what I wanted to do, but traditional techniques always seemed to result in scatter-shot results. For a while I secretly integrated astrology into more mainstream techniques, and I started to get results. It's one thing to come to the conclusion that a client is having a bad time with their children, but it's quite another to be able to tell that client that these problems (which started about ten months ago) are a result of Transit X, and should be wrapped up in another four months.

The more I did this, the more there was no looking back. I had become an astrologer, and could only bill myself as such. I had traded in prestige for results.

Frankly, I am a HUGE fan of "results."

The more I understood astrology, the more I could see the actual mechanics of why this person gets along with that person, but trouble always flares up over scheduling or sexual mismatches or communication styles, or what have you. If psychology is like decoding the plot of a movie you're watching, then astrology is like decoding the plot of that movie with a copy of the script in hand, and an interview with the director and writer as to what their thoughts were during filming. It's simply more comprehensive and easier to make sense of the movie with all that additional background material at hand.

Oh, and also: astrology can predict the future. How can you say no to something that both tells you why your mate is acting up AND how long it's going to last?

That's why I'm an astrologer. I like helping people, and I like seeing how the individual parts add up to a Whole Person, and how those parts interact with other Whole Person's parts, and with the world around them.

And yeah... predicting the future accurately is pretty cool too.

Whether by choice or personal tastes, most astrologers end up specializing in one way or another of doing their work, and what issues they deal with. Although astrology can be used to find answers to pretty much anything, I find myself drawn again and again to matters involving human relationships. Why does this one love that one? Why can't those two work things out? What am I doing wrong when it comes to understanding you, and vice versa? Psychology is pretty good for that sort of thing, but in my experience only astrology seems to grasp a lot of the mechanics and timing of personal and interpersonal issues.

The timing of matters is particularly important. When do I start my business? Should I go on vacation now or next month? Astrology has answers for those things too. I often tell clients: "any psychic can tell you that 'everything happens for a reason'... but it takes an astrologer to tell you that 'nothing happens a damned minute before it's supposed to.'"

So even though my goal is to help people the same way a regular counselor or therapist would, I get my results from a wide variety of of both natal and predictive techniques: transits and secondary progressions and eclipse charts and even a little Vedic Astrology where it fits. Basically, I go wherever the answers are.

Also: the idea that Your Life and The Universe are strangely yet deeply connected really, really kicks ass.

If you're looking for some answers of your own, send me an e-mail and I'll tell you more!

(Okay, I admit it: this is going to be another one of those not-overly-planned-out shows which so often just work out nicely anyway. Besides... I'm a Sagittarius and she's an Aquarius. If we can't "wing it," who can?)

A New Moon In Aries, And A New Way To Get A Reading

Even with things you know like the back of your hand, it's good to sometimes stop and ask whether or not there isn't a better way to do that thing. I've given the whole matter of getting a reading from an astrologer some thought, and I've come up with something that I think will work better for YOU... and might also get you free stuff!

Normally, you'd make your payment and then sit there for an hour while an astrologer tell you everything he/she sees. That works fine, but in my experience most people find themselves thinking within a few days that "I should have asked about such and such" or "That didn't tell me what my odds were of getting a job this month!" or something like that.

That's why I've broken down the whole process of "getting a reading" into my new Subscription Reading Service. Instead of getting one big chunk all at once that covers everything... you get customized, monthly chunks that are easier to work with and understand, and still covers everything!

Every month, your Subscription Reading breaks down into four parts:

1) An overview of the transits happening that month... how it influences the people around you. Think of it as a general astrological weather report.  That part will be posted on Youtube every month, like this one:

Parts Two through Four are delivered as an audio file each month to your e-mail.

2) The Specifics: knowing what's going on with everyone else is good -- but what about YOU? This is the segment where I take what's going on in the Zodiac and break it down into the specifics... how they will manifest in your birth chart and your life.

3) Your Questions. Have a specific issue you're facing? Curious about what was going on in the past? Want to learn more astrology? Whatever it is you'd like answers to... you mail me and I answer 'em. It's just like a regular astrological reading times 12 months a year!

4) What Else Have You Got? The final segment will go into one or another specific factors in your birth chart. It goes beyond simple interpretations and looks at how astrology really manifests itself in practical terms in your life!

Here's a video version of the rest, as addressed to a fictional client, "Lori."

One of the best things about doing a reading this way is that it doesn't just fit your schedule and your life... it fits your budget! Various packages are available, and there's probably one that can work for you.

Write me for more details, and I'll send you a free e-book too!
