Love Is A Battlefield: The Aries Guide To Compatibility

(click for an enlarged battle map)

As much as a cliche as it might be, I still find that when an Aries approaches me about their love life, the question may be "Is so-and-so my soul mate?" or "Should I continue to pursue whatshisface?"... but the real question is "how much of a fight am I going to have to put up to get things right?" But you want romance, and whether you're a man or a woman, you love the challenge.

I've decided to demonstrate Aries compatibility by showing you how easy or hard the planned Aries invasion of Love Island will be, based on the sign of the partner.

THE BEACH: The Fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Flat, level terrain here with little resistance. Another Aries might seem like the logical place to start. Trouble probably will set in when your next planned combat action isn't on the same path as your partner's. Leo is comfortable, but they can be less goal-oriented than you. That can be frustrating. Sagittarius is a pleasant fit, but you may have this nagging feeling they aren't taking you seriously enough. And you're probably right.

THE GRASSLANDS: The Air signs, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. A little more work to empathize with, but still relatively easy to reach. Only the occasionally spear is thrown at you as you approach. Gemini can be a little more scattered and indecisive than you. Aquarius can be similarly passionate about things, yet strangely dispassionate about them too, and that can be frustrating. Libra is a little further inland and hilly, but worth the extra travel. You may find the natives here react to your every strategic move, making them surprisingly hard to catch off guard for such nice people.

MOUNT BULLMORE: Taurus. Lush fields protected by stubborn thick jungle and a steep climb. This one will take some time to achieve, but may well be worth it as a stabilizing influence. Watch out for the vines: they cling. Hard.

DREAMY VALLEY: Pisces. Gentle, restful, green and luscious. It's a shame you have to go through so much damned work just to find a place to rest. And the terrain here can be confusing and unclear. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? You decide.

FLINTY RIDGE: Virgo. On the face of it, you two have neither nothing in common nor any reason for conflict. This can actually be a great place for you to camp out. All you'll have to do is convince the natives it's okay. And do it in their language, not yours. Good luck with that.

SCORPION PASS: Remember that great scene in "The Fellowship Of The Ring" where Gandalf held off the giant Balrog in a spectacular battle, only for both of them to plunge to their deaths? Yes, one of them did come back for the next movie. You think that's you, or Scorpio? It's a coin toss. You like those odds?

THE DEFENSIVE MOUNTAINS: Cancer and Capricorn. You wouldn't leave your valuables in the driveway and lock up your old newspapers, would you? These two are emotionally defensive because they have a lot going on inside, and they are the most reactive to a sudden jab. The problem here is that "sudden jab" is your style, whether you like it or not.

So why even bother? I don't have to tell you. You're an Aries. It's all about the victory, baby... glorious, glorious victory.

Venus in Pisces, Mars in Virgo: Pinky And The Brain Try Internet Dating

(Venus in Pisces is considered to be an "exalted" placement: full of open-hearted non-judgmental love and willingness to express it. Mars in Virgo is looking to win by analyzing the details. The two positions are opposite each other, and Venus opposition Mars is in full effect now.)

***

(SCENE: Late night at Acme Laboratories. In a darkened corner two laboratory mice in a cage are huddled over a tiny little computer, checking out a dating site.)

PINKY: Oy, what about this one, Brain? She seems really nice, and oh look... she likes long walks! That could come in handy. Narf!

BRAIN: Don't be ridiculous, Pinky. Pay attention to the rest of her ad. "Must be goal-oriented and self sufficient."

PINKY: Well, that's you, isn't it?

BRAIN: That's a code-phrase for "she's a gold-digger" Pinky. You know I can't touch my savings. I need it for a new Death Ray!

PINKY: Oh, okay. Hey, look at this ad! She says she's easygoing and appreciates being able to relax with a loved one over a glass of fine wine!

BRAIN: She has low standards and a drinking problem. Next!

PINKY: Well, SurferGirl67 likes classical music like you do...

BRAIN: I hate what she's done with her hair.

PINKY: This one has a fondness for animals...

BRAIN: I am an animal! She'd never be faithful!

PINKY: SunshineLover81 enjoys spending time on the beach and --

BRAIN: --and is an unmotivated skin-cancer candidate.

PINKY: AudreyJ has loved and lost but is ready to try again...

BRAIN: Too many issues with her ex.

PINKY: JJLaRue says she's wild, spontaneous, and affectionate...

BRAIN: Tramp.

PINKY: IowaHomegirl wants a committed relationship that lines up with her values...

BRAIN: Prude.

PINKY: Narf! You aren't making this easy, Brain! You're analyzing everything to death!

BRAIN: (Turns off computer and walks to the edge of the cage, stares off into the distance) Enough of this foolishness! You know what we're going to do tonight, Pinky?

PINKY: Go out and try to find someone in person, so we can see them for who they really are instead of dismissing them offhandedly based on a few lines of type and a couple of pictures?

BRAIN: No Pinky. We're going to try to take over the world with my army of remote controlled pigeons I've trained to poop on anyone whop dares challenge our dominance. It's a much more practical and achievable goal.

PINKY: (sighs) I'm lonely.

BRAIN: Shut up Pinky.

Conquer The Universe With Astrology: Romance, Seduction, And Aches And Pains

On the next "Conquer The Universe With Astrology," (Thursday at 10 PM Eastern, 7 PM Pacific) we'll be covering a lot of ground, and it's all worth the trip:

HOUR ONE: Listen to my interview with novelist Sara Humpries. The first volume of her "Amoveo" series, Unleashed, is about to hit the shelves, and is the first of a multi-part series. Does writing ability show in a birth chart? A tendency to write romantic fantasy novels? How about that childhood crush on Captain Kirk? And are bigger things coming in the next few months? Have a look at the chart below, listen to the interview, and play along!

THEN: Carrying on with the romance theme, I will be beginning a new twelve-part series...

LET'S ALL SEDUCE SOMEONE WITH ASTROLOGY!

This episode: How to seduce an Aries... man or woman... by Sun, Venus and Mars sign. Listen to this show (and the next eleven), and you'll be The Most Dangerous Dater on your block.

HOUR TWO: I interview medical astrologer Eileen Nauman about the role of Mercury in the birth chart as it relates specifically to your physical condition. It's informative, it's entertaining, and it's more proof that Astrology is probably even more awesome than you realized.

Here's Sara's chart... click it, it gets bigger:

Practical Astrology: How To Seduce A Scorpio Man The Easy Way

If you read the quick and easy guides to the Sun Signs you find at any typical supermarket check-out, you might get the impression that the best and easiest way to get a Scorpio man into the sack is to tell him in detail about your bondage gear, your prehensile tongue, or that drunken experimentation you did with your college room-mate.

Nonsense. Sure, Scorpios like sex, but they are subtle creatures too.

Here's how to bag that scorpion:

Proceed in the same way you would with anyone else. Let's say a nice dinner over lobster and wine... or tacos and mini-golf. It doesn't matter.

The one thing you should do to handle him slightly differently than other guys?

Make sure your bra strap peeks out. Or... if conditions permit... a thong strap. But not both. Preferably this strap should be red, or black, or some girly color. Or maybe a nice floral lace pattern. The point is to subtly draw attention to something that (theoretically) should not be visible.

Don't make a big deal out of it. Watch his eyes and see how long it takes him to notice this. Of course, if he is locked into making eye contact with you, you probably don't need my help. The second time you catch him glancing at your peek-a-boo lingerie show, subtly carry on with your conversation as you poke it back into place.

A few minutes later, move your shoulder enough to let it pop out again. Don't repeat this too many times... two or three times should be more than enough.

The point here is to let him know that you are a woman, and that there is more going on beneath the surface. Something that maybe you'd normally hide, but you are comfortable enough with him that you don't mind him knowing it. That, and there are only a few millimeters of fabric between him and The Promised Land. And if he plays his cards right, you'll give him a guided tour.

What you do with him after this is entirely up to you. He'll think that's all up to him... but of course, you and I know better.

Practical tips and guidance on lots of subjects... not just sex... on "Conquer The Universe With Astrology," available for free HERE!

The Astrology Of Bad Love

Over the years as an astrologer, I've seen a lot of bad relationships. And I look at relationships a lot in my role as the blogger for Astrologydating.com. I've also seen a fair number of good ones of course, but let's be honest -- it's the bad ones you often learn the most from. Now although I can't say I've gotten the keys to the "perfect" (ha!) relationship here in my back pocket, but I've certainly observed where a lot of the problems come from.

I've combined much of my material on this subject in a new e-book...

The Astrology Of Bad Love
When The Stars Are Right But Your Heart (Or Head) Isn’t… Or Is That The Other Way Around?

...along with new material you haven't seen anywhere else.

And unlike your last bad relationship... this won't cost you a thing. No, really. It's free. Free. All you have to do is write me and ask for it just like my last freebie (which if you ask for it now... you'll get that TOO).

Whether you're a total beginner at Astrology, or have gotten a little deeper into the dynamics of astrology and relationships... or are just looking for the occasional pained chuckle at how this things can go off the rails... "The Astrology Of Bad Love" has something for you.

What's not to love about THAT?

When Your Partner's Saturn Squares Your Venus

Anyone who has had a relationship can tell you that no relationship is perfect. We're human, and the complexities of our birth charts reflect that. How many times have you heard a friend (or yourself) say something like this at the beginning of a relationship...
"Oh, it's sooooo adorable when you fall asleep and start snoring!"
And then, by the end of the relationship, you hear/say...
"If I lose one more night of sleep to your snoring, I'm going to kill you!"
Any relationship that lasts longer than five minutes has to both value the positives each person brings to it, and work with (or ignore) the negatives. Any theoretical long-term relationship that doesn't have to follow that basic principle must, sadly, await further advances in robotics. And when an astrologer, or an astrology dating site, makes a pronouncement as to whether a relationship is a "good" idea or a "bad" one has to take this into consideration.
Case in point: in most references, you'll see that if Person A's Venus is squared by Person B's Saturn, the relationship is likely to either be a non-starter, or simply a bad idea. The truth is, though, that if there are enough "good" aspects between the two people, there is a good chance the relationship will be "good." And, if the two people are mindful of the relationship, there's always opportunities to work around that particular "bad" aspect.
